Objective
The objective of this training unit is to understand how to read and understand the manufacturer's product data sheet and the importance of using the product within these guidelines.
- All coatings have product data sheets.
- Do not consider using a product until you have read and understood the data sheet.
- Do not confuse the general data sheet with the Health and Safety Data Sheet.
Lesson 2 - Paint Storage and Paint Mixing

Objective
The objective of this training unit is to understand that coatings must be stored in the correct manner prior to use. To also understand the importance of paint mixing of both one and two part paints and material handling.
- The paint sprayer should be familiar with the storage requirements of the various type paints that are available.
- The paint sprayer should understand the Health and Safety procedures for storage and mixing of paints.
- The paint sprayer should understand the importance of correct mixing procedures
Lesson 3 - Quality Control

Objective
The objective of this training unit is to understand the quality control process and procedures to be adopted for spray painting, specific environmental conditions, wet and dry film thickness.
- The spray painter should be aware of the specific constraints with environmental conditions with paints and coatings.
- The spray painter should have a thorough understanding of both wet and dry film thickness.
